Better ME

I was before a heavy drinker and a smoker. I used to drink all night with my so-called friends. At the age of 18, I got my freedom from my mother to go home late in the morning, the next day or even worst the day I wanted to be home. ( My father died when I was 12 years old.) I thought doing those things will cover the sadness and bitterness inside my heart. I was raised by a father who is a Christian and a mother who is a non believer. When my father died there was no complete guidance on me and it took time for me to rebel and hate the world and so God for losing a good father. My mother then is still grieving on my father’s death and never takes time to look after her children it was during that time when I have a total control of my life. I do what I want and never think of its consequences. I’ve also been into different kinds of relationships; as a result it made me more bitter and full of hatred when I failed each of them. Later on I love drowning myself into alcohol for whatever emotions I have because of my addiction my health does suffer. I was diagnosed to have a chronic illness which has no cure. This was the time I remember God and talked to Him, in tears I told Him “ if you want me to die then let me die now” It was my sister who was attending CCF handed me one of its weekly chronicle, out of my curiosity I found myself reading. It was that time I felt that it was God talking to me. I recalled the sins that I made and confessed it one by one. Also the same time I invited Jesus as My Lord and Savior.
Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.2cor 5:17
I know by that time I am a new creation of God. He is the Father of Second Chances, allowing us to start all over again. Now I know God uses many things to make me a better me. I will continue to love Him and live for His Glory…
